ABOUT

Welcome to Pour + Overflow!

My name is Alix Carruth and I am 20 years old. I was born in the Midwest but raised in Texas with an appreciation for sweet tea and southern sass. Armed with a well-stocked craft space, my curiosity for exploration and an imaginative mind began at a very young age. Over the past ten years, I've seen my desire for imagination and expanded creativity grow day by day.

I have a strong passion for caring for people and showing children their true potential. Although I'm currently workings towards a journalism degree, I truly enjoy volunteering with youth and emphasizing the importance of creativity and individuality. Jesus Christ plays a major role in this passion and it has been amazing to see Him work in my life over the past few years.

I started my first blog, Confessions of Adulthood, in the summer of 2012. The site was a means of sharing my love for religion and the struggles I faced as I moved into adulthood. After a while, I began searching for a way to combine Confessions with my expanding art portfolio.

In February 2014, Pour + Overflow came to life.

This blog is meant to be a melting pot of my favorite things -- writing and artistry. I love to create. I love to experiment with color, typography, texture and design. I love to express the swirl of thoughts in my head through acrylic paint and a stretched canvas.

I want Pour + Overflow to inspire readers and serve as a means of fellowship within the blogging community. The mission statement is simple: to ignite a sense of creativity, passion and belief in your heart. I hope to do that for each and every one of you.

Thanks for reading!
